Day 147

I don't know what is going on, but today was another big day of guarding things. Captain and I enjoyed a beautiful tour of the Island first thing and then several other tours too. I think Captain enjoyed being outside a lot today and I didn't mind since it was a little cooler outside than it was when I was too hot earlier this week.

It was in the afternoon that the craziness started. I guarded the house and this little winged animal today. I don't know why everyone wants to come into my house, but I am going to protect those that need protected and keep my Captain safe whether it be from moose coming from the box on the wall or a winged creature. Captain was making her dinner on the warmed box outside that Papa uses a lot and she let me come and enjoy outside while she cooked. I noticed a little winged creature on the ground. Instead of flying away when I approached it just sat there. Captain came running over just as I was about to taste it and started waiving her arms and demanded I leave it and sit. I was just going to take a little taste and see if it was okay. . . the little thing shut its eyes tight and Captain questioned if it was dead but frozen upright somehow. Nope, I guess I just scared it to the point of it freezing in place and closing its eyes for the impeding doom of potential death. I thought it was sick and was going to guard it for as long as I needed, but Captain really felt sorry for it and made me leave it. It opened its eyes and turned its head to thank her and she shooed me into the house. It took over 2 minutes for the little thing to feel better and fly away.

Then, as Captain was still cooking a constant knock at the door sent me on a barking rampage. It sounded like someone was trying to break down the door to me. Captain opened the door to a small human that spoke unclearly and was talking about being left alone at the playground and her mother being gone. Captain was not sure what she should do to help the little human, but it was definitely a bad situation. The little girl left, but then came back two other times banging on the door again and driving me crazy. Captain grabbed the phone and dialed three numbers and then stayed with the little girl at the playground until two cars came that had blue and red lights on the top. Captain really hopes that the situation didn't get worse, and was sad she too couldn't guard this little human they way I might, but she didn't know what else to do and didn't want to bring the little human in the house without those men in uniforms around in case the mama came back out and got upset with Captain.
