Day 124
It was a beautiful spring day on the Island today. Even when we woke up, without the people's voices telling us to get up and that bad things are happening in the world like other mornings, at 5:30 the sun was out and bright. I tried to shut my eyes to it and the Captain, but she is so noisy and I just know that if I follow her she'll feed me some of her yummy bananas. Ohhhh I love bananas.
There were no ferry drivers out today even though I listened for them all morning. Instead, Captain worked (or shall I say bossed as today was a day of her bossing people that were clearly not as aware as I am that SHE IS THE CAPTAIN) from home and she took me on my tour and played tug of war with me and brushed me. I kept darting behind the trees and rushing through the flowers and Captain got upset with me because I "ruined the tulips". I have no idea what she was talking about, but sure had fun and was snoozing away the rest of the afternoon.
Captain disappeared for a while tonight and came back red in the face and smelly. She sure seemed to feel better after and even took me for a ride in the ferry until almost bed time. We had a late dinner and shared another yummy banana. I loved that banana so much I can't even chew my bone. I think it is going to take me the entire fifty some days until my Papa comes home to finish this bone.

Day 123
It was a rainy day and I enjoyed a nice tour in the place with the cement squares not even noticing the rain or the waterproof two orange legged winged creatures with bills in the water. I just minded my own business. I went on another walk with the Queen ferry driver, but I can't tell you what happened on that walk and was smart enough to destroy all of the evidence. I found that book that she writes in and tore it into pieces, leaving the half for today about how good I was and destroying the second half so Captain couldn't see if I was good or bad.

Luckily for me Captain laughed still took me in the car on a road trip to another state. If I had known we were going on a trip I might have not torn up my book. Good thing I type this all out so I guess Captain doesn't need the memento of all my puppy days. I was good in the car to show her I loved her. We drove the entire way there and back in silence without the radio or anything. I don't think it was that Captain was upset with me because she kept checking on me, but that she had a rough dog day at work and is worried about stuff at home. I'll give her extra kisses and be good the rest of the week.

Day 122
It was a nice day on the Island. Captain and I awoke after going to bed earlier than usual, but we were both still very tired. I think we need to go to bed early again tonight and try and stay asleep a little better through the night. The good news for me is that I am the four legged kind that can go back to sleep while Captain has to drink some of that dark and strong smelling beverage that she makes and go off to run and work. I am proud of her for running each morning. Today, I jogged around the green area with the cement squares and pond. After 1 lap, I was tired and needed a break. I can't believe she could do almost 26 laps around. Later in the day, I got to go out and play again, this time in the green area with the diamond shaped dirt area. I got to play with friends each time and I had a great time.
Captain got home late, she said something about the unreliable nature of the ferry on the tracks in the slightest big of bad weather. I agree with her, as if I had an option as she IS the Captain, that the ferry should get proper glasses and paw covers since the Island is in New England. We enjoyed a great dinner and she let me try some of this new grain that she must have found somewhere on the Island. It was called quinoa and I liked it almost as much as she did. She mixed squash and eggplant with it and seemed in heaven. She kept singing some some about being a sailor and ate green leafy stuff next to it. I think she thinks that it makes her strong. I think playing tug of war with me will make her strong. I worked on my bone for a little while, but am very tired from my playdates and jog. The bone is lasting a long time, it still has knots on both ends.

Day 121
Captain was out late last night helping a friend so I was glad she didn't get up with the sun and we got to rest some this morning. We went on a nice tour and I got to lay on Captain's legs while she worked and I rested. She even took me out on a little mini tour mid morning after I whimpered for attention and she broke. Haha, I broke her. While I went with the ferry driver King, she went for a jog. It was nice outside, sunny but cool and I bet she loved it.
We went on a tour together and then she messed with all these boxes and bottles for over an hour. I didn't even babysit her the whole time, I couldn't take it. Once she was done we enjoyed a great dinner together and I ate my bone while she had some homemade yogurt and berries. She even gave me a yummy berry. I think we'll be in bed very early tonight.

Day 120
Captain's batteries certainly did not run out over night. We slept in and woke up just an hour later than usual, but it was blissful for both of us. After a nice tour, Captain started cleaning all my beds and gave me a pedicure before scrubbing the floors. She gave herself a pedicure too, but she doesn't get to eat peanut butter during hers like I do. Maybe next time I'll paint her paws for her while she eats.
Two men came and were looking at the walls outside the house with the Captain and talking about words like leak and soundness which I didn't understand. Captain came in and said she didn't understand half of it either which made me chuckle. I didn't like her being with them and barked a lot while she was outside. After a tour and a chat with my Papa she was out the door in her Wicked shirt. She was gone a long time, but when she came back she was showered (I am amazed at how she does that, but she sure saves on the Island water bill) and had lots of bags of goodies. Captain said she ran her race right on the pace she should have and actually realized it was her best pace at that 5 mile distance by over 3 minutes. I was proud of Captain and gave her a nose for a job well done.
Soon, the house started to smell really good and I sat and watched this cheesy goodness in the oven, Captain called it green chili enchiladas. Those enchiladas made the house smell great and I was excited to get a little cheese in my dinner too, and some tortillas that Captain got a little too dark--she always does that, but I am happy to help.
After dinner, I was tired and ready for bed and I think Captain was too, but instead of going to bed we cuddled and both had dessert while waiting on our friend Kathey to come back to town. Captain is picking her up and her flight is late. I think she'll get home just as my Papa is getting to work. Good thing I get to stay home and rest.

Day 119

So much happened today on the Island. I hope I don't leave anything out. First, I gotta say, I know why the Captain was given her title. She is one productive lady when she wants to be and ran a tight ship all around the Island today. The neighbor next door, Chica's mama, called her the Energizer bunny today. I don't see a tail, but she wore me out.
We got up early (I would expect to as early as we went to bed last night) and went on a beautiful tour. The air was crisp, but the sun was out and it was beautiful will all the trees full of flowers and little baby leaves. Little yellow flowers were all a bloom too. Captain then left for a "two hour" tour via foot like she does most Saturdays. Once she got back and cleaned herself up a bit, she took me in the ferry. It was great!
We went on a walk in the park and she let me explore all over the beach. I inspected lots of green bubbly and weedy stuff stuck to the rocks. I even found something interesting under the sand and dug and dug for it while the Captain just laughed at me.

After our time at the beach, Captain drove the ferry to the nursery and got lots of little green plants, pots, and bags of dirt. I had no idea you could get bags of dirt--I could have a lot of fun digging with those bags. When we got home she scurried around while I enjoyed the sun under the tree and put all the little plants into the pots.
She even fed the plants. I tasted the plant with the little flowers, but Captain didn't like that one bit.
She said that the plants were not for eating yet (except the ones she made for the kitchen) and even then, none for me.
Once the plants were all done, Captain cleaned up her hands by scrubbing the car. She washed it multiple times, dried it, and put this pink stuff on it that smelled like berries. She even vacuumed it out and cleaned the seats. She was bopping around singing to me while I enjoyed the sun so I didn't mind that we were out there for hours and hours. Just as I was getting hot, she turned her energy to me and suddenly I was cooled with the hose and covered in bubbles. I must admit it felt great so I was a good boy and didn't bicker with the Captain. She soon attacked me and the car with towels (different ones of course) making me all fluffy and the car very very shiny. I could see my beautiful clean fur in the side of the car even.Luckily, Captain finally settled down so we could enjoy dinner. Hers smelled much better than mine and had little white round bits in the noodles that I think she could have snatched out of the ocean. Mine on the other hand, had tiny little moving things in it with four legs. I am glad Captain saw them and got me a new bowl. They were gross and did not go well with my meat dish.
She finally let me rest after dinner when her friend came and took her to get ice cream. I would have loved to ride in the ferry too, but was glad to lay on my bed and get some rest. One of us needed to and it wasn't going to be Captain. Once she got home, I was still tired and couldn't even lift my head to get it on my big bone. I got close, but just couldn't get there. I'll save it for tomorrow.

Day 118
It was a beautiful day on the Island and I toured the part with all the buildings and stone paw ways. There are people all over the place and they look at the buildings like they have never been here before. I let a lot of them pet me and rub my head and the ferry driver said I was so good that everyone wanted to say hi to me and they told Captain she should take donations. I don't know what a donation is but if it tastes like my yummy huge bone I am all for it. I am spending tonight with Captain who has been laying down since before it was even dark outside the windows. She is one tired Captain. Good thing I have my bone to keep me busy tonight. I have one end almost unraveled, but it has been a lot of work.

Day 117
It was a beautiful day today. I went on a lot of tours and my ear is feeling better so I was a happy boy. Plus, Captain came home and I got to finally chew on my giant bone again. I had been waiting all day for that bone. Captain makes me only chew it on my bed because when I try to carry it around I get to close to the walls or something. It is like she has a sensor for the walls or something.

Day 116
I was very sad to see my Captain leave this morning. I don't know why she won't stay home and play with me in the sunshine. I was so sad that when she was getting her gym bag together, I tried to make her feel guilty and stay home by putting some of my toys in the bag.

Captain came home and made up for leaving me behind today. After eating a good dinner together, Captain having a nice piece of chicken and beets with a nice side salad and me having my usual fare, Captain took me in the ferry. Yup, in the ferry. We went to some store that had a bulls eye sign on the outside. Captain literally said to me "Otis, mama has to go inside very quickly, you have to be good and if you are we'll go to the pet store and you can pick out your own toy". I heard every word and took her seriously. I was an angel. Captain and I looked at fish at the pet store, but they didn't have any we liked. I liked watching the little no-legged creatures swim about. Then, I got to walk up and down the toy and bone isles. Ohh, it was so fun. I passed over all the toys and my eyes lit up when I saw they had an even bigger bone than the huge ones my grandmapup and Papa have bought me. It is longer than my leg and I struggled to carry it out of the store without Captain's help!! I love it.

Captain wanted me to lay with my bone while she got ready for bed and watched a bunch of two legged people running. I watched too and then started staring at them and barking so much that Captain had to change the channel.

Day 115
I don't know what was going on around the Island today, but I am exhausted from all the guarding. After Captain and I went on our tour, she hunkered down early at her computer and I immediately began hearing noises outside the house and sat in front of the door all morning for hours. I would periodically bark or grumble because I know there is someone out there messing around in our bushes and in our pee areas and I don't want them to even think about coming through the door. I hope I made my point clear. Captain kept telling me I was good and that it was okay, but I stood my ground no matter what.
Plus, I can tell it is super nice outside and I want to go out and investigate and play. Luckily I got to play with Ely for a while this afternoon and we enjoyed the sunshine. I was very tired when I came home, but stayed alert and awake to the sounds and a visitor from Captain's running club who came by to pick stuff up from Captain. I like her and let her pet me all over and even near my ear which hurts. I tried to rest some while Captain worked, but then she left for a while and came home sweaty and then she showered and left again. She came home when we normally go to bed and said she had been out for a drink with her coach. I like him too so it is okay, but I wanted to play again and then go to bed. I am tired and I don't like her messing with my schedule.

Day 114
Oh, Captain didn't lie. That noise making thing started talking way too early this morning. I didn't even want to get up. Needless to say, we still had a very nice tour and I was too tired to pull or anything. Once we were home Captain drank this tiny little mug of dark brown stuff and seemed to perk up quickly. She gave me some breakfast and cookies to keep me busy while she got dressed in her running gear and was out the door (I think the clock said 5:40 when she left, but my eyes closed so quickly that I couldn't even tell).
I did like that she came home and showered and ate her own breakfast here and gave me a nice treat of a pig ear while she did since I was good getting my ear medicine. But, then she left again. I think she was going somewhere different today and she said something about the biggest race of the year and volunteering. Whatever she was doing, I was able to go back to sleep and play in the sunshine with my boxy gal Mia. We ran free in the park together and had a great time celebrating that the sunshine was back. Ohhh, glorious sunshine. I think Captain enjoyed it too, she came home with pink cheeks and covered in sticky stuff. She seemed tired and a little sad in the evening so I curled up with her and brought her my favorite toys to cheer her up, I hope it worked.

Day 113
Rainy Island days make me very sleepy. I was up a lot last night with my ears hurting and keeping the Captain safe. Between the two of us, I think we kept each other up more than we slept. As a result, we enjoyed snoozing this morning later than usual. I didn't even care and enjoyed listening to the rain and then the birds. Captain and I enjoyed a tour together walking in the cool drizzle and looking at the greenness of the trees and then a nice breakfast together. Then, she went on a very long run and left me to tour the entire house on my own. I didn't even care and slept the entire time she was gone. She seemed happy when she came back and told me that the Island experienced rain, sun, and sleet all while she was out running. After she took two bathes (I think one was cold, but either way she smelled and I am glad she took two) and ate, we cuddled together while she talked to my Papa on the phone for a long time. I am glad she got to talk to him, but I don't know why I don't get too. I miss him a lot too. I miss playing tug of war, getting extra belly rubs, and walks with both my parents. I hope he comes home soon.
This evening, Captain made the whole house smell really good, she called it Squashed Butternut by Risotto or something like that. We had the neighbor over that takes care of my four legged friend Chicka. Her belly is growing and I am gentle around her. I did bring her my tug of war toy just in case though and enjoyed laying on the couch with her after dinner. She seemed to like Captain's dinner a lot, she had never heard of risotto or had butternut squash. Captain ate way more than she did and I think she was really hungry after her run.
Now I am in bed barely able to open my eyes while Captain works on a document for her job before going to bed. She warned me we have to get up even earlier than normal for the marathon tomorrow so I am taking her word for it and going back to sleep.

Day 112
The Island is cold and wet. I enjoyed staying in the warm house and napping most of the day. We went on our usual tour and I have taken to jumping up the tall bushy items that are turning green to chase the little four legged creatures with the big fluffy tails. Captain laughs and calls it her morning jolt and told me maybe she didn't need coffee after all. (It was cold enough she wanted it for the warmth when we got home, but she did seem more alert for the rest of the walk.) Once she left for her run, which I think was a race today and involved some weird thing called a gorilla that the runners were chasing (but he was much bigger than the four legged fluffy tailed things), I was able to curl up and enjoy the dry house. I curled up with the t-shirt she left me and felt all warm and snuggly. When she got back she laughed and said that while she wasn't the one the caught the gorilla she kept running hard anyway. She said something about this being a life lesson for me about chasing your dreams hard even if someone else beats you to them. I smiled and kissed her but I hope she realizes that she is the key to my dreams as she provides the cookies, food, and bones.
A man came into the house later in the morning and was all looking out the windows and up at the ceiling in the dining room. I brought some of my toys out of the box to show him. He was nice to me, but Captain seemed sad about the news he was telling her about the rain and something called leaking. They went and walked outside too talking about bricks. They didn't take me with them so I threw a tantrum inside. I know, not totally mature like the almost 3 year old I am, but I wanted him to know she was my Captain and I wanted her to know she hurt my feelings. She made it up to me when we rested in the afternoon and took a long tour during a dry spell. I actually really like walking with Captain through the mist and cool air, well so long as I don't get my paws into puddles, I hate that. Then, she said something about a party and left for a long time. I again enjoyed laying on my bed with my tshirt and teddy bear and was still ready for bed when she got home. She pretty much walked straight into the bed and it is all we can do to blog.

Day 110
Today was friend play day on the Island. I got to play with my short four legged friends Ely and Finz. We had a great walk into town where all the outsiders are touring the Island. Seems they don't come out when the Island is beautiful with white stuff. Later in the evening I got to go in the ferry to my friends fenced in yard and played hard. I was still wound up when Captain got home but then we both crashed after a nice dinner. She watched some game on TV that looked like it was played down the street at the diamond shaped place and I chewed an ear from swine before falling fast asleep.

Day 111
We awoke to a cool morning on the Island, but it quickly turned colder and the wet drops started falling from the sky. Captain told me that she even had white stuff come down on her during her morning run. I didn't see any, but think I may have another chance later this weekend. As a nice surprise, what better thing to do on a cold wet evening is to curl up with a good movie? Captain and I did just that only with a bunch of Captains running club friends. I guess they are our friends now though because I sported my Wicked t with my name on it and we went in the ferry to a little building off the water and watched movies and ate chips and cupcakes.

Well, Captain got the cupcakes, we both got some chips, and I got peanut butter cookies and my good bone filled with fresh peanut butter.
I was super good and stayed next to Captain. The runners were all nice to me and I even got to meet the real Mascot miles the cat. I had my photo taken with it and then tried to eat it and Tim, the President of the runners, almost had a heart attack.

I chewed my bone during the first movie about a famous runner and kept an eye on everything. The building had a lot of doors made of glass and in the middle of the movie I saw late people coming towards the doors. I didn't know about these people and certainly don't approve of tardiness so I barked loudly at them several times like I do at home to protect the Captain. I think I scared them all half to death with my big bark and Captain told me it was okay for a while after that. Once the first movie was over they gave out prizes. I kissed my Captains raffle ticket for good luck and she won a magazine subscription to a new magazine. Too bad it wasn't PlayPouch.

Day 109
The Island started off cool today, but quickly warmed to a beautiful 66 degrees, which I admit actually felt a little warm for playing with my boxy gal Mia. The entire Island continues to turn green with this increase in temperature and I think my hopes for the return of the white fluffy stuff must wait for another season on the Island and the time when my Papa returns. In the meantime, I hope to enjoy nice tours with the Captain in comfortable temperatures.
While I admit that my duties on the Island are many and that I accept my bone chewing, couch laying, and Captain guarding duties with gusto, I have never fully accepted the duty of "clean up" placed upon me. I love to lay in the kitchen while Captain cooks, don't get me wrong, but I prefer it when she feeds me with her paws as opposed to reducing me to a four legged fool that licks food from the floor. Not that she is not a great housekeeper and that the floor is clean, but why should I help when she is doing such a good job? That said, tonight she lad a luscious dinner with brown colored pasta and my Papa's red sauce with the sausage in it. She dropped a plop of that sauce on the floor and I was there and cleaned ever last drop up. Maybe if she stopped dropping green leaves and started dropping red sauce more, I would help out a little more. Now if only she would drop some of that wine to go with it.

Day 108
The Island is full of these nasty little bugs. They are horrible. They attach themselves to me and are so gluttonous that they drink my blood, my precious blood, until they get totally fat and actually eat themselves to death. Captain and the ferry drivers then have to pull the bugs off me because they don't fall off when they die. Luckily Captain caught one before it could kill itself, thus beating it at it's own game (even though she had to light it up with a match to kill it). Now, I am not to say that I wouldn't eat Mama's cookies until I got sick, but I don't think I would eat so many as to kill myself. Then again, what a way to go.
The Captain and ferry drivers are on to my love of the cookies too. They have been taking them on our tours and luring me away from the yummy treasures on the sides of the walkways by offering them to me when I "leave it." I have a feeling Captain will be using that new machine that cooks the cookies an awful lot.
Finally, speaking of the ferry drivers. The King and Queen ferry drivers both came together for my second walk. Captain was still home working (which I loved because I spent the day on the comfortable leather cushion sleeping) when they came, but she and the Queen kept giggling about a new pretty ring that the Queen was wearing. They would look at the King with baby four legged being eyes when they were talking about it. I don't get the female breed at all. . .
Day 107
That box that talks went off way too soon this morning. I can tell it is Monday on the Island. Captain actually listened to the man talking from the box and his story about nuclear weapons. Not really a pick me up for a Monday in my opinion. Luckily the walk on a nice spring day was much better. Later in the day ferry driver Josh came and got me and we went to Mia's, my boxy lady friend, house. We played in the yard and I was a gentleman and let her jump all over me. I was relieved to come home to the round bed Captain put out for me and was so thankful to not lay on the floor that I made sure to not mess up anything. Captain and I had a nice walk in the evening and she gave me dinner, but then she left for a while and said she was at a board meeting. I missed her but again was very good while she was gone. She was thankful so she laid on the couch with me and watched a show instead of going to bed like she wanted. I love that she does that with me because I am not ready for bed as early as she is; apparently, she doesn't get to sleep during the day like I do.

Day 106
It was a beautiful day on the Island and Captain and I continued to tradition of no alarm clocks on Sunday mornings like she and my Papa used to do and did while he was home. It was nice since she got home late last night. We still awoke early and toured the Island, but it was a little later than during the week and it felt nice to wake up when we were both ready. The sun warmed our faces and the breeze reminded us it was spring. I even tasted the grass a couple of times just to remind myself what summer tastes like. Throughout the day we kept returning to the sun for tours around different parts of the Island. We toured the usual am path by the burned house and they had these huge metal containers out in front and men in masks carrying buckets out into the containers. It looked messy and Captain kept me on the other side of the street. Doesn't she know I need to check it out; that is the point of the tour. Once we got home we had a nice breakfast together and enjoyed some R and R in the man cave. Then, Captain went out for a run and I had a nice time in the house alone. She came home when I didn't expect her (I mean she was gone for 3 hours running yesterday so I thought she'd be gone longer today but she came home after just over an hour) and surprise me. She found the half of the corn cob that was on the rug and took it away. I hadn't eaten but even 2 of the little nubby things and was not even sure what it was. She kept asking where it came from since we don't have anything like that here, but I wouldn't give her my secrets. We went on a lot of tours today. We toured the circle around the dog park, the street near the diamond shaped grassy area, and even downtown on three separate walks. I was mostly good each time. With all the walking, I think Captain hoped that my nails would wear down, but they just get sharper and more pointy so she had to use the tickle machine to grind them down.
On our last long walk of the day, we went downtown and Captain tied my least to a pole while she went into a store. I could see her through the glass and knew she could see me, so I was very good. I just sat and stayed in sit while watching for her. She came out and was so proud of me. I don't know why she didn't give me the good smelling bag she came out of the store carrying, but it sure smelled good. I was good the entire walk hoping I'd get a bite, but she didn't share. She made up for it by making me lots of yummy cookies in the new oven and letting me lick the peanut butter jar completely clean.

Day 105
Ahhh the weekend with my Captain. She kept me up tossing around last night and this morning, but we had several nice tours to make it up and she took the blood sucking tick off my face which I was very grateful for. She was in and out a lot today, but was sure to spend time with me when she was home so I was happy.
Captain was gone for a long time after our am tour and came back smelly. We had some lovin time for a while and she rolled out the clean soft floor cover for the second floor so now I can do crazy boy. I chose to toss Earl around the second floor instead, but may do crazy boy tomorrow. Oh and maybe she'll play tug of war with me.

Day 104
The island was covered in cool fog and mist this am. We seem to have begun our pre-dawn wake up again. Captain awoke still I'll and I could tell her ears were bothering her. I don't know why her ears don't flop over to protect them. I like mine, especially when she scratches them like she did while she drank her breakfast this am.
The king ferry driver came today and I was bad again by testing him too by snatching a big delicious bag from that M restaurant the humans seem to love. I refused to give it up and growled at him like I did Captain. After he tricked me to get the bag I felt bad and regained most of his love rubbing against him. The two leggeds are suckers for that.
Captain returned early from the ferry on tracks and went to see the two legged vet for her ears and snot issue. She came home and took a bubbly bath and I joined her eating bubbles and licking her. She laughed and put bubbles on my face, silly captain.

Day 103
Today was an energizing day. I toured the Island with Captain and then Ferry driver Josh twice. each time the Islamd grew cooler and darker. I like it much better this way. I also found more energy with each walk and my belly felt better after throwing up a lot after my first walk. I have my Captain's stomach. After throwing up I was hungry so I chewed on a different part of the rug. It took a while but I finally found some that didn't taste too bitter. Josh took if away after my second walk so I pulled the cushion off the bench so I would have something soft to lay on.
When Captain was home there was a surprise. She got home late, but soon after she got home that boy James and his crazy Mama Betty came to see me and went on a short walk, like in the AM, with me and the Captain. I was all hyper to see them and was bad in front on them. Captain yelled and fought me when I wouldn't give up my prize-a coffee cup lid. She stood in the middle of the street with my fur af my neck in her paws and telling me how she wasn't afraid to make me mind in front of my friends and that she was boss. We'll she did over peer me and won, but I will challenge her again. How embarassing.
I am so tired from the battle. . .

Day 102--Second Half
Darn this Island got really hot today. Where did all that great white stuff go?? I liked it better. Seems it is true, I think Papa is gone again and Captain is in charge even though I gotta watch her. I just don't trust she can protect herself. Though she is armed and dangerous with that nasty tasting bitter apple stuff in the sprayer. She sprayed it all over the new rug I thought Papa bought for me to nibble on.
I know we are back to Captain's way because the ferry drivers came with my boxy gal Mia. I sure missed her. We were so happy to see each other and walk together, even if if was in the mid 80s. Thank goodness for the queen ferry driver too cuz she knew this dead bug on my face was a tick and not so much the growth Captain and Papa thought it was. I was so glad she removed it that I just rested my head in her hand while she pulled it out. Ahhh.
Back to eatin my bone and lovin on my Easter bunny. Captain put me to bed with a song, but I am not tired. I want to know my Papa is okay and am restless.

Day 101--Second Half
I am not sure how to count my time on the Island now. My Papa came home for a visit for 3 weeks and it was the most amazing visit. We went for a lot of walks, took naps together, played a little bit of tug of war, and I even went on vacation with my gal Nesta while he and my Mama went away together. Oh, and did I mention that he let me sleep in? I woke early like I did with the Captain for a while, but we quickly enjoyed resting with my Papa.
Today was hard for me though. My Captain and I enjoyed having Papa here so much that it was harder than we both thought to see him go. I knew he was going somewhere and when Captain came home I watched her like a hawk. I know I am on guard and I watch over her more carefully. She could tell I was anxious when she came home and I could tell she was sad, so we decided to "run through it" like she often says, and we went for an easy jog in the place with all the cement squares and the pond. Then, she curled up with me and told me how much she and my Papa loved me and we took a nap together.
