The last day of 2009 was exhausting here on the Island. We did our am tour, but the Captain sounded funny and acted like she didn't feel well. She kept blowing her nose on these yummy pieces of tissue like paper that I wish she'd put in my bowl instead of the trash--I love tissue. Sometimes I would try and lick the stuff from her nose instead and she would laugh and push me away. She said she guessed someone on the airplane gave it to her. I don't understand why someone would give something like this to someone else, that is mean. I was very protective of Captain since she didn't feel well and barked a lot to warn the people I heard outside that I was here, but sometimes after I barked I got nervous and went and hid by Captain whimpering.
Later in the day our friend Kathey, she loves me by the way, came over and her and Captain went outside for a while. They came back smelly and all covered in white stuff. YAY! The white stuff was here again. They went outside and played with me and then the Captain let me play with Cooper and little Ely across the street. I showed them some of my new toys from Santa and we all played with them. Once, I didn't see where I was going and ran sliding headfirst into the back of a car--it hurt my head. I wonder if one of those tissues would help it feel better?
Captain stayed in with me tonight since she didn't feel good. She was supposed to go with friends, but they run too and have three long races next weekend so she didn't want to make their noses run too. I was really glad she stayed with me. She cooked food that smelled really good and made us both sneeze when she ate it, she called it chickpea curry and said it would help her head. Then, she made me cookies, wonderful cookies that were a little different than usual. I think her nose might have dripped into the mix, but I don't mind. She let me lick this yummy bowl that had some of the goodness in it, she called it almond butter. I laid on my bed with all my toys and licked it clean. Ahhh, I hope 2010 is just like this--good toys, good food, and lots of fun white stuff to play in outside!

P.S. Captain also said that laying by the fire and looking at the tree that wears the skirt and tons of earings would be a great way to end the year but that we couldn't tell Papa we started the fire--shhhh I won't tell, but I LOVED laying next to her by it.
